  1. I think healthcare is good as long as we don't overthrow the private sector in the process. Giving the government a monopoly over healthcare goes against the principles of a capitalistic society.

  2. It's important to highlight the fact that the capitalist society, free market system, etc. are all under a democratic process. So isn't it the same regardless of whether healthcare is privately ran or under government control? In both cases there will be a dominant provider. The choice is whether to have it come automatically or from market competition till we eventually get a wal-mart of healthcare. It all reverts to the freedom of choice, and the private sector is free to choose how the public sector operates right?

  3. Wrong!! "The private sector is free to choose how the public sector operates" That doesnt make sense. I think you have a mis understanding of what the private sector is. The private sector is the public sector without absolute government control. To say its the samething to have gov't run healthcare as oppose to private healthcare is like saying. It doesnt matter if I get my tools from the "Mom and pop store down the street or the big Wal-Mart around the corner." The private sector is the epitome of capitilism. It allows for any average american to put in work, build a corporation and reap the benifits of his labor. If you want to have Wal-Mart health care then your consenting to the demise of creative variations, liberal entrepreneurship and competitive markets.
